After five years at The Royal Exchange, we’ve made the decision to close this particular chapter of Tomoka Fine & Rare, and to begin work on a new London home that better reflects where the business is heading. This isn’t a goodbye so much as a step forward, and it felt important that our clients and cask owners heard the news directly from us rather than stumbling across it elsewhere.
The Royal Exchange has suited Tomoka well over the years. There’s something in its history and setting that has always matched the way we think about whisky, as an asset built on patience, craft and a genuinely long-term outlook. But the business has grown a good deal since we first opened there, and with that growth comes a need for a space that can grow alongside us, which is why we’re currently working on finding the right new location in London. We’ll share the details as soon as we have them to share.
Visit us in St Albans
While we take the time to get the London relocation right, our tasting room and shop in St Albans continues to operate as usual and remains fully staffed. If you haven’t been before, it’s well worth making the trip. It’s the space where much of our day-to-day work actually happens, from tastings and cask reviews to the more informal conversations that don’t always fit into a shopfront setting, and it tends to give a far better sense of how we operate than any single London address ever could.

Our Head Office on Lime Street
Our head office on Lime Street also remains open for client visits Monday to Friday. If you’re London-based and would prefer to meet closer to the city while the new retail space takes shape, the team there would be glad to welcome you.

In the meantime, we want to be clear that nothing about the way we work with you is changing. Your cask, your account and your relationship with your advisor continue exactly as they always have, and the team you already know.
Whether you’d like to taste through your cask options, talk through storage and duty in more detail, or simply come and see one of the spaces for yourself, the team would be glad to welcome you.
What happens next
We’ll be in touch with the new London retail location and opening date as soon as contracts are finalised, and we’ll make sure you hear about it before anyone else does. Until then, if you have any questions about your cask or your account, or you’d simply like to arrange a visit to St Albans or Lime Street, get in touch and the team will take care of it.
